Mainframe Channel Attach 3490 Tape system
OMS4000 is a 3490 Magnetic Tape device which will be connected to mainframe via channel
interface.
Since the device can be replaced to the current CMT equipment as it is, this can
provides stable operation of current tasks without any concerns about end of
maintenance service of current equipment.
* Both single model and cartridge autoloader model are available as 1 drive type.
* If the system will be used by connection to FICON channel, ESCON/FICON converter
will be necessary.
This can connect directly to IBM channel interface (ESCON) and Fujitsu channel interface (OCLINK)
Customer can choose either Single cartridge model or 10 cartridges auto loader model. Maximum 2 drives can be connected to 1 controller. This enables read/write to 36 track cartridge and read to 18 track cartridge. Also this has data compression mode of IBM IDRC/Fujitsu EDRC as standard feature.
Not necessary to change anything about operation about magnetic tape such as software, JCL or administration.
UNITEX offers an on-site maintenance support for 5 years after introduction. (internal Japan only)
