Since its release in July 2024, the UNITEX LTO Drive x QNAP NAS Bundle Archive System has garnered positive feedback for its unique combination of online storage via network connectivity and offline storage via LTO. In response to the growing demand for container management, UNITEX Corporation has now introduced a new lineup to this series, offering enhanced convenience and functionality. With the UNITEX ArchiveLT software running on Ubuntu Linux Station, users can enjoy lightweight, easy, and secure data copying from NAS to LTO without the need to build a virtual environment, including an OS, on the NAS.

Traditionally, archiving from NAS to LTO required building a virtual OS, constructing an archiving system within the virtual OS, and then archiving from the virtual OS to LTO. However, with the new system compatible with Ubuntu Linux Station, this process has been significantly streamlined. Users can now archive from NAS to LTO simply by registering the packaged archiving system within Ubuntu Linux Station. This approach results in substantial resource savings, eliminates the need for OS licenses, and provides a lightweight execution environment for archiving. Furthermore, since the archiving process from NAS to LTO is isolated from other applications, security is greatly enhanced.
